Things To Do in the Twin Cities {10/5/2012}

Every Friday we will give you a list of upcoming events in the Twin Cities’ Metro. As fall is upon us there are many things to do to enjoy the fall weather and colors. Fall Colors Fine Art & Music Festival

October 6 & 7 from 10 am. to 5 pm. Lowell Park, downtown Stillwater.
This popular annual fall event features 90 juried artisans specializing in a wide variety of handmade art including; clay, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, wood, photography, painting, drawing and digital Art.

Community Wellness Day

noon to 3 p.m. at the Eagan Civic Arena, 3870 Pilot Knob Road.

Harvest Weekend at the Minnesota Zoo

October 6 & 7, 13 & 14 and 20 & 21
Fall is the perfect time to visit the Wells Fargo Family Farm. Stop in and check out our cow and goat milking demonstrations, butter churning and more. Each weekend will include fall crafts, musical entertainment, and other hands-on animal fun. Be sure to see the animal-themed scarecrows on display through October 31.

Spend quality time with your toddler at the Minnesota Zoo! Join a Zoo naturalist who will read a story, lead an animal encounter, a movement activity and an art project focusing on a specific topic.

Enjoy a picturesque chairlift ride up Mt. Gilboa, one of Hennepin County’s highest points. On the hilltop, meet a live bird of prey, view autumn’s colorful skyline through a spotting scope, listen to live acoustic music by Pig’s Eye Landing (Friday) or Four Mile Portage (Saturday) from 6:30-8:30 PM, and purchase tasty grilled food. If you like, bring a picnic blanket. After dark, relax by a campfire, view stars through a telescope, and follow a lantern-lit trail down the hill. Adults must accompany children. Pets not permitted.
